Obituary for Anne Fraser

Anne Fraser, 92, a resident of Bethammi Nursing Home and formerly of 20 Hanley St. passed away Friday, April 24th 2015.

Anne was a Charter Member of the Cerebral Palsy Parent's Council. This council formed in the J. B. Larway Cerebral Palsy School which later became known as the George Jeffrey Children's Treatment Centre. Anne was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a Charter Member of the Federal Superannuates Nation Association Lakehead Branch, a member of St. Margaret Church C.W.L. and also served on the Parish Council.

Survived by daughter Brenda Blackie, brother Patrick Swanson (Mary Louise), grandchildren Karen Fraser and Jonathan Blackie (Alicia), great grandchildren Stephanie Fraser, Nicole Sereda, Denon Blackie and Emily Blackie. She is also survived by nephews Albert (Budd) Hickin (Patti), Jim Maley, Rick Frowen (Marlene), Gary Frowen, Rod Swanson and nieces Ferne Baysarowich (Alex), Debbie Mancuso (Rocco) and extended family Glenice Fraser and Debbie Desmoulin.

She was predeceased by her husband John, son Ken, mother Ellen (Nellie) Leanaghan, father Joseph Leanaghan, step-mother Gladys, granddaughter Rhonda Fraser, sisters and their husbands Cathie Hickin (Andrew), Mary Maley (Edgar), sisters-in-law Marie Frowen (Albert) and Dorothey Riordan, sons-in-law Hans Pech and George Blackie. She was also predeceased by niece Linda Nielsen (Peter).

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ciaran Donnelly presiding. Interment to follow the reception in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Sargent & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the George Jeffrey Children's Treatment Centre, St Joseph's Foundation or the charity of your choice.
