Obituary for Julia Pacifico

It is with profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Julie Pacifico, on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020, at the age of 44 years.

Born in Thunder Bay, Julie worked as the Admissions Officer at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Julie was an unselfishly dedicated daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was the “rock” of the family who bound everyone together.

Julie’s family and friends were her life. She loved to organize gatherings and was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Julie was outgoing and very social and could always make you laugh with her great sense of humour and sarcasm.
She always put her own needs last knowing that her family, especially her five nephews, Brandon, Jordan, Jacob, Matthew and Lucas, were taken care of. Known to them as “Uncle Julie” from a young age, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. It wasn’t unheard of someone calling her from the Tournament Centre and asking her to get their hockey stick that they forgot to bring to the rink. Julie would always say yes. However it always amazed us at how she made it there and back with the stick and a coffee in 15 minutes. She would stop at nothing to make sure their needs were taken care before her own.

Julie had many friends. She was the “glue” that kept her friends bonded together. Her friends knew her as loyal, dedicated, supportive and a great delegator - she always told others what to do, and if you didn’t like it, too bad. There was no use arguing with her because you would lose. Her friends enjoyed listening to Julie tell endless stories, always with a humorous twist, about her family, particularly about her mother. The account of what happened would always end with, “you don’t know what it’s like to live with an old, Italian lady” as those listening were filled with laughter.

Julie will lovingly be remembered by her parents, Vincenzo and Emilia Pacifico, brother Tony (Leanna), sister Silvana (Franco) Marchese and cherished nephews Brandon, Jordan, Jacob, Matthew and Lucas, her close relatives, and friends. Numerous other relatives also survive in Italy,Toronto and Thunder Bay. She will also be dearly missed by her closest friends; Ellie,
Elena A, Elena Q. and Luisa, as well as her NOSM family friends Miriam and Katie.

Due to the restrictions of today a private family funeral will be held to celebrate Julie’s life. Should family and friends wish to watch the service, a live stream link can be found at the bottom of Julie’s page at www.sargentandson.com on Monday, June 8th, 2020 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the “Julie Pacifico Memorial Fund”at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. https://www.nosm.ca/advancement/our-stories/the-julie-pacifico-memorial-fund/ The funds will be used to directly impact the students that Julie was so passionate about. “Always so good, unselfish and kind”
Few on this earth her equal we find.
Honourable and upright in all her ways,
Loyal and kind to the end of her days
You are not forgotten, dear daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
