Obituary for Carmela Felice

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Carmela Felice on September 13th, 2022 Born on November 28th, 1934 in Paterno Calabro, Cosenza, Italy. Born to a family of 14 children.

In 1964, she left Italy with her husband Mario and three young children Carmine, Aurelio and Carla, to come to Canada. Once settled in Canada they welcomed their fourth child, Antonella in 1974. Carmela brought with her many passions and her life revolved around making food and making sure everyone was well fed.

Carmela enjoyed the simple things in life and her family was everything. Her door was always open for visits for food, coffee, and laughter, she enjoyed watching her favourite shows with her nieces Anna and Elena and made sure her grandchildren and great grandchildren were spoiled with treats.
Carmela continued doing the thing she loved most cooking, and taking care of family, until the last days of her life.

Carmela will be lovingly remembered by her children Carmine (Linda) Felice, Aurelio (Kathleen) Felice, Carla (Brad) Slobodian by her grandchildren Angelo (Caroline) Papa, Christina (Bip) Papa, Ryan Felice, Natalie (Carlo) Cappello, Marina (Carl) Felice, Julia (Beau) Chan and Frankie and Talia Coccimiglio, by her great grandchildren Ariana, Cassandra, Nico, Sofia Papa, Carmela, Layla, Gianna Capello as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also had a very special place in her heart for Tony and Tulio Provenzano.

Predeceased by her husband Mario, daughter Antonella, siblings Maria, Giulia, Peppina, Giovanni, Carmine, Ermanno, Rafaele, Francesco, Salvatore, Michele and Giuseppe, brothers in law Francesco Felice and Pasquale Tripargoletti, sisters in law Lucia Ceci and Adelina Ceci as well as numerous family members in Italy.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, with Rev. Luigi Filippini officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the mass. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
