RIVARD- Mrs. Carole Loraine Rivard, age 72 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Carole was born in Port Arthur on November 11, 1942, the daughter of Reginald and Kathleen Heritage. A lifetime resident she graduated from Lakeview High School. As a younger woman she enjoyed figure skating and up until recently enjoyed swimming as well. For many years Carole was an active member of Knox United Church where she sang in the choir. In 1962 she married Jean Rivard and together they raised two sons. Though Carole had a strong will and was not afraid to speak her mind she had a very kind heart and supported many charities during her lifetime. Carole’s greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jean, sons Reginald and Mark (Lisa), grandchildren Connor, Garrett and Kilee, sister Debra (Carl) Bunch, nieces Kerry Ann Lippert and BobbiJoe Heck, grandnieces, Halee Holder and Gwendolyn Holder. She was predeceased by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Adelina Pecchia presiding. The interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
