OSTENRUD- It is with great sadness the family of Catherine Alice Ostenrud announces her passing on January 3, 2019, at the age of 81. Catherine was most recently a resident of Roseview Manor. Her greatest achievement was raising her six daughters. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, laughing and having fun with her family. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Fritz, her parents Esther and Lawrence Major, brother Joseph Major, sisters Lois Johnson, Leona Gourley, Bernice Major and Eva King. She is survived by her brother Tom Major, and sisters Wilda (Ian) Walmark and Esther (Jim) McNabb. She will be sadly missed by her children Sheila Gray (David), Sharon Austin (John), Catherine Dagg, Arlene Clair, Anita Ostenrud, Kim Carvalho (Del) and her grandchildren Nikki, Tricia, Esther, Evan, Samantha, Matthew, Dale, Adam, John-Reese, Lauren as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Ek and Dr. Valente, and the nursing staff at TBRHSC for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult time as well as the staff that cared for her at her home in Roseview Manor.
A service to celebrate the life of Catherine will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
