Obituary for Clark Noyes

Clark Noyes, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away in his home on the morning of January 18, 2023 at the age of 92. Clark fought long and hard until he couldn't. Anyone that knows Clark can assure you he fought to be Finer than Frog Hair.

Clark was born in Sudbury, Ontario on October 14,1930 to Ida and Gunnard Noyes.

In 1947 the family moved from Schreiber, Ontario to Pearl, Ontario, where Clark lived his life to the fullest with his family and met the love of his life.

In 1952 Clark began working on the Wolf River, river drive tug boat for Abitibi. Clark continued his career with Abitibi becoming a heavy equipment operator and took great pride in his position as a bulldozer operator for many years.

On October 13,1956 Clark married the love of his life Laura Ileen, the day before his 26th birthday.

In the earlier days Clark enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. Clark was also a very good wildflower picker who often brought Ileen and other people flowers that he would pick. Clark would sing to Ileen, “I'll pick you a daisy a day.”

Clark loved music. He always encouraged you to listen to the words. When Clark was home on weekends and the weather was nice there were bonfires with the music playing on the loud outdoor speakers. Neighbours knew when Clark was home.

In July 1985 Clark left Abitibi due to ill health, and he began taking on more interest in the Amethyst Mine.
From there he spent many years helping neighbours from near and far. Clark enjoyed delivering flyers to all the neighbours. Clark was always there to help anyone that needed a hand.

Clark absolutely adored the grandchildren and never hesitated to tease them in some way or another. Many special memories were made during visits. He had a great sense humour whether he was pulling ponytails or tying socks in a knot.

Clark is preceded by his parents, Ida and Gunnard Noyes, siblings Doug Noyes and Francis Grann.

Left to mourn are his Wife of 66 years Ileen, and their 5 children, Martin (Kelty), Leslie (Lee), Helen (Danny), Jo-Ann (Lenny), Mitchell (Terry); 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place as per Clarks wishes and A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Pass Lake Community Hall with Arlene Berg-Leishman officiating.

Should friends so desire donations can be made in honour of Clark to the Salem Lutheran Church rebuild fund or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements in care of Sargent & Son Funeral Home.
