Obituary for Dan Nuttall

Dan Nuttall
Apr. 18, 1948 — Jan. 22, 2023

With great sadness, the family announce the sudden passing of Dan Nuttall, age 74, on Jan. 22, 2023.

Born and raised in Campbellford, Dan met the love of his life, Carol, in 1966. They married in 1969 and after a year in Hamilton moved to Thunder Bay where they raised their 2 children. Dan worked in the funeral industry for 8 years before being hired into his dream job of city firefighter. He retired from firefighting in 2008 having attained the rank of District Chief. He was also co-owner of Oikonen's Taxi with Billy Oikonen for over 10 years.

Dan was an avid hunter and sports enthusiast. He loved curling, baseball, the Habs (for some reason :D ) and was a long-time Border Cats season ticket holder. Dan volunteered as a driver with the Red Cross, and spent his retirement pursuing his passions including travelling the world with Carol and visiting baseball stadiums throughout North America with friends.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Carol, children John (Deni) and Margaret (Bruce) in Mississauga, 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Alexandra, sister Mary-Lou and brother Dave (Carol) of Peterborough along with other extended family.

Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Corinne, and special brother-in-law, Rudy.

In keeping with Dan's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. If desired, donations can be made in his memory to the TBRHSC or the charity of your choice.

Dan will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Online condolences can be sent care of Sargent & Son.
