Obituary for Deborah Ann Klim

We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Deborah Ann Klim (McHale) or our “Debbie”. Born February 25, 1958 in Port Arthur, ON she left our physical world on January 23, 2021 for an offer she couldn’t refuse. A pain-free eternal rest, a reunion with people she hasn’t seen in a while and to be the forever legend whose aura and absolute beauty will resonate as long as the world turns.

Deb was THE definition of what anyone would strive to be. Super-model gorgeous looks with music, love and laughter that radiated from her soul. Her life was defined by generosity and giving to everyone else (the Shopping Channel’s most valuable customer!) Debbie was gifted with chef abilities, stand-up comedian talents, jokes and the tendency to make you laugh until you cried. Blessed with a warm, gentle and forgiving heart, a sharp mind, intellect, and insatiable zest for knowledge, experiences and life itself. Debbie knew how to do her time on earth justice and many a novel could’ve been written about her exciting journey.

She attended St. Bernards, St. Ignatius and Hillcrest High schools. Debbie extended her personality and skills to the hospitality industry in both Thunder Bay and Red Lake where she lived for many years. However, Deb would have been the first to tell you that becoming a Mom at 19 years of age to her daughter, Christine, was to be her pride, joy and focus. She would love to discuss “Chrissy’s” accomplishments and brag about her daughter to anyone that listened! Christine brought her Mom on all her journey’s vicariously especially when Mom’s health began to decline.

Deb began her Cancer journey in 2015, yet the smile, positivity and dedication to fighting never wavered. She honestly took every circumstance she was dealt in life and did her very best and we will forever be in awe of her. She was a woman that was simply magic and sparkle and that most certainly will remain for eternity.

Lovingly survived by the love of her life, Gaetan Larouche, daughter Christine Klim (Richard), Mother Betty McHale, Siblings- Nellie DeDura (Don Sr.), Rose Horde (Bill), Patricia Holseth, Jim McHale (Rose). Extended family/friends- Marie Larouche, Denise Larouche (Nick), Alison MacGillivray, Colleen and Gord Belanger, John and Darlene Klim, and Margie Olson. “Bonus” kids- Olivia, Nina, Neil, Deanna, Sherri, Gerry. So many loved cousins, nieces and nephews to mention. A million lifelong and dear friends that could go on forever! And of course, her cherished and faithful little boy-her Dog Kidd, who never left her side.

Predeceased by Father- James, Brother-Michael, Brother in law- Ted, Nephew- Billy, Father in law- Roger and first love, Tony.

Cremation will take place. Debbie was simply too amazing to limit a gathering, rather a spectacular celebration of life will happen as soon as allowed. “Raise the Roof!” as Deb would say and how we will. We would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Geoff Davis for everything. Expressions of sympathy can be shared at memorial.sargentandson.com/DeborahKlim. Donations to animal rescue charities would be most appreciated.

We love you so much Debbie.
