Obituary for Deena Lynn Greaves

Print
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Deena Greaves on November 4, 2018. Deena would never be defined by the illness she so bravely fought for so long. She was a grandma, mom, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Deena spent her life taking care of others, always putting the needs of friends and family before hers. She was proud to have raised two strong, respectful sons, and was even prouder to be a Grandma to three grandsons. Her love and understanding left a lasting impression on Nathan and Matthew, helping them become the young men they are today. When Jaxon was born earlier this year, she was so happy and looked forward to the daily pictures and videos. Deena enjoyed shopping, traveling, and shopping while traveling. She never met a purse she didn’t like. She would literally drag her friends and family, willing and unwilling, from store to store until they turned the lights out. Deena, was a Registered Practical Nurse and worked at Dawson Court before retiring in 2015. Her years of dedication and compassion for the residents was repaid years later with the excellent care of the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Care Group during her final days. Deena will be sadly missed by her husband, Jim; sons Keri (Susy) and Kevin (Jennifer); grandsons Nathan, Matthew, and Jaxon; and her two dogs, Bella and Nicki. She is survived by her brothers, Kerry (Starla) and Ron (Sylvia). Deena will also be missed by her nephews, Shane and Kelly, and niece, Samantha (Alex). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Deena’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society are welcomed.
