Obituary for Donna Lynn Lafferty (Prince)
With sadness we announce that after a long battle with dementia, Donna peacefully left this world on July 18th, 2022 at St. Joseph's Hospital with her daughter and sister by her bedside.
Donna was born in Thunder Bay, ON on December 29th, 1960 to Violet & Clarence Prince. Growing up, Donna attended Grey Park, Westmount, and Selkirk schools before she went on to work at Weiler, Maloney, Nelson for 30+ years, until her illness took hold.
We will always remember Donna as a quiet, kind, and compassionate woman. She enjoyed being in nature and tending to her garden. She was always there to help others grow and nothing made her smile more than being around her grandson.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years Douglas Lafferty, son Justin Lafferty (Taimi Hagberg), daughter Melanie (Kevin) Brewer, and grandson John Lafferty. Donna also remains forever in the hearts of her mother Violet Prince, sister Dale Prince, brother David (Trish) Prince, and many extended family and friends in both Thunder Bay and St. Catharines, ON. Donna will be joining her father Clarence Prince, who predeceased her.
Thank you to all of the staff in 2B at TBRHSC who cared for Donna over the last 1.5 months & thank you to Victoria, Deborah, and the wonderful team in 4 North at St. Joseph's Hospital for making Donna's last few hours comfortable and peaceful.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration will be held with family at a later date.
