Obituary for Doris Marie Poile
Mrs. Doris Marie Poile, also known as "Granny Bear," age 94 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Hogarth Riverview Manor with her family by her side.
Doris was born on January 31, 1928 to parents Edward and Louise Bouchard. She enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and trapping. Doris loved to sing with her family, baking and making delicious meals for her family and friends. She took great pride in the traditional arts and crafts that she completed. Doris was humble, kind and loving. Doris was a proud member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Gull Bay; she was the president of the Church in the 70's - 80's and was a Eucharist minister for over 20 years.
Doris will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children Randy (Rebecca) Poile, Yvonne Poile, Isidore (Mary) Poile, Edward Poile, Ernest Poile, Roland (Nora) Poile and Justin (Rita) Poile, daughter-in-law Nancy Bouchard, sister-in-law Nancy Penagin, brother-in-law Charlie Poile, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was predeceased by her husband Lazar Poile (2002), children Leo Bouchard, Rose (Phil) Lalonde, siblings Leonard Bouchard, Norman Bouchard, Abel Bouchard, Pearl Brizard, Nora Lesperance, Victor Lesperance, and Dennis Lesperance, and sisters-in-law Esther and Helen.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church in Gull Bay with Father Gerry McDougall officiating.
Special thanks to the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor, especially Dr. Feldstein and the personal support staff, who provided care to Doris. A personal thank you to June at Superior Elder Care who escorted Doris to her appointments. Your kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated.
