Dwayne Darwin Heebner, 63 years passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in his home. He was born on December 4, 1959, in Regina, Saskatchewan where he spent his childhood. He moved to Vancouver, B.C. with his wife after the arrival of their first born. The family relocated to Geraldton, On, where he worked as a mill worker. They lived in Thunder Bay for a short time before dad returned to B.C. after his separation from mom. He worked hard to overcome mental health and addiction issues to reestablish a relationship with his kids and to meet his grandkids. Our families will forever be grateful for having him back in our lives for the last 9 years. Dwayne was a hard worker who would drop everything to lend a helping hand. He always kept his apartment building and grounds immaculate. If he wasn’t outside weeding gardens and trimming trees, he was shoveling paths clear of snow for other tenants. Dwayne appreciated a fine can of Pepsi in exchange for his help with small work tasks. He enjoyed time with his son and kids, his cat Ella, chatting with dear friend Cheryl, as well as walks with his grandpup Joey. He didn’t have much to give but his helpful hand, meaningful thoughts and gifts were more than enough. Dwayne will be lovingly remembered by his children Dwayne (Liane) Heebner, Shanna (Darren) Charpontier, his grandchildren Jasmine, Kodee, Preston, Ciara, Brookelyn, his ex-wife Pauline, his siblings Ron Heebner, Cheryl Lolli, Gary (Brenda) Heebner, Rhonda (Dave) Davies and will also be missed by his fur baby Ella and dear friend Cheryl and Carter. He was predeceased by his parents Delmer & Yvonne (nee Dupuis) Heebner, daughter Tanya Heebner and son-in-law Dudley Yapp. A celebration of life will be held from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Castlegreen Community Centre, 213 Castlegreen Drive.
