Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Hogan (Hodge)

Print
Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Hogan, nee Hodge, aged 92 years passed away peacefully at her residence at Hogarth Riverview Manor November 6, 2018.

Mom was born in Lochgelly Scotland April 4, 1926, and came to Canada as a baby with her family. They settled in Fort William where she attended Ogden street school and Selkirk
high school.
Mom was employed with the Income Tax Agency, then later worked at Port Arthur General
Hospital in the Accounts payable department.

In 1955 she married James (Jim) Hogan and they had one child, Bill. They made their home
on North Court street. Mom enjoyed reading her newspapers in her sunroom, lunches with
her sisters/nieces and friends, a night out at bingo or going to the casino with Dad on Saturday nights. After retirement, she enjoyed trips to Duluth and Las Vegas with Dad. Those trips were always an adventure and you were always guaranteed a good chuckle
and story after each trip.

Survived by son Bill (Ellie), brother Bill Hodge in Winnipeg, sister in law Alma Trush, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Jim, her parents, and sisters Pearl, Kay, Gladys and Ethel.

A special thank you to the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor, 4 North for their care, compassion and love they always showed Mom; it meant so much and will never be forgotten. Also, thank you to Pat for doing Mom's hair every Friday, something she always looked forward to.

Cremation has taken place and as per Mom's wishes, there will be no service. If so desired, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.

Mom, we will miss you, your laughter, sense of humor and kind spirit.
