CHARTIER- It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Frances Chartier, age 83 years, at St. Joseph’s Care Group on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. She was born in Ketchen, Saskatchewan on May 5, 1932, the daughter of Philip and Adeline Romanychyn. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Grandma Chartier “GG’s” family will greatly miss her baking, cooking, especially Grandma's perogies, potato buns and the best peanut butter cookies ever, and her endless love and support. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Brian (Jan), Gerald (Laura), Robert, Charlene (Mike Sobchuk) and Heather (John) Williams; grandchildren: Karri (Albert Gasiorowski), Kelly, Clinton (Valerie) and Brandon (Kaitlyn Lemay) Chartier, Jenna (Justin) Daniels, Lauren (Ryan) Blanchette, John K. (Laura Aedy) Williams and Keith (Tara Small) Williams; great grandchildren: Ruby and Sadie Blanchette, Jack Daniels and Rosalie Chartier, sister Julia Lindblom as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Ted, sisters Pauline, Stella, Mary and Helen and brothers Paul, Joe and Bill. The family would like to thank Dr. Gehman, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Ramchander and Dr. Droll along with all of the nurses and support staff for never giving up hope. We are also grateful to Dr. Everall, Dr. Davis, Dr. Miller and Dr. Migay and the nurses and support staff at St. Joseph’s Care Group, 3 South and 4 North (Hospice) for the care and compassion shown to Frances during her time there. Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street. In lieu of flowers memorials to the TBRHS Foundation Regional Cancer Centre or to the St. Joseph’s Foundation-Hospice Unit would be appreciated.
