Obituary for Geoffrey Robert Stanley Farrow

Mr. Geoffrey Robert Stanley Farrow, age 60 years, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 with his family by his side, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Geoffrey was born the only son of seven children, on June 8, 1962, in Fort William, Ontario, Canada. Geoffrey attended Victoria Park School, Westmount Jr. High, and graduated from Fort William Collegiate Institute (FWCI). For his Post-Secondary Education, he attended Lakehead University, where he eventually met his future wife. He worked hard and received “The Degree of Bachelor of Administration, Personnel Administration/Industrial Relations” from Lakehead University, a diploma in Human Resources Management from Confederation College, and earned his right to use the title “Certified Human Resources Professional” or CHRP. He told of his adventures working at the Royal Edward (Eddie), as well as Northern Wood Preservers, until landing his latest position with the City of Thunder Bay, as a WSIB Claims Analyst. Geoff was also proud to have served as Second Lieutenant with the Army Reserves. He always worked hard, enjoyed what he did, and loved to joke around.
On August 27, 1994 he married the love of his life, Marisa Petricig whom he adored for more than 27 years. He was a very active man, whose lifelong love of soccer led to many trips down South for tournaments. These turned into opportunities to celebrate a number of occasions, such as his second honeymoon, and family birthdays at Lutsen, Wisconsin Dells, NASA and Disney. He looked forward to fishing, hunting, and camping trips, where he could go quading, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, and enjoying conversations around the bonfire. Geoffrey was the household handyman, through his joy of tinkering with anything mechanical. He cherishes the memories of golfing with his buddies on their “boys only” Duluth trips, building a boat with his children like his father did with him, and spending every Christmas together as a family. Most of all, his family was his pride and joy.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Geoffrey’s healthcare professionals, and the staff of the TBHSC 1A (an exceptionally tender loving care ward) for their assistance, humor, and compassionate care of Geoffrey, especially during his stays at the hospital. You are truly incredible people, and we couldn’t have gotten through this without you.
Geoffrey is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Marisa, amazing sons Liam, and Colin and beautiful daughter Rose Farrow. Dearest Mother Donna Farrow had him, as fourth of seven children, being the only boy of six adoring sisters, Charlotte (Jim) Miller, Pamela (Douglas) Oshimo, Jennifer (Dale) Mead, Victoria (Bruno) Tassone, Alexandra (Guy) Jefford, Rebecca (Michael) DiTomaso, and Brother-In-Law Steven (Rylee) Petricig, and honourary Brother Doug Birston, and good friend Tim Slongo. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, the United States and England. He was predeceased by his Father Stan Farrow on March 14, 1999, Father-In-Law Luigi Petricig on March 17, 2003 and Mother-In-Law Alma Petricig on August 18, 1997.
Cremation has taken place, and funeral services for the late Mr. Geoffrey Robert Stanley Farrow will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 808 Ridgeway Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario, celebrated by Archdeacon Deborah Kraft. My Darling Geoffrey,
I will never say goodbye, because you live in me, our children, and all your family and friends. That will never change. In honour of you, and on the sunniest of days, I will be sipping that morning cup of coffee, overlooking the beach and tranquility of the water, that started our entire journey. I will cherish forever all that we’ve accomplished in our very short time together. You will always be with me, and especially when I look into the children’s eyes.
