Obituary for George Alexander

Alexander, George Murray August 25,1925 - April 13, 2013 Our beloved, George Alexander passed away April 13th, 2013. George is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary, daughter Ruth (Richard), grandchildren Joanie (Jim), Jesse (Lisa), great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Julia and Cole. George was predeceased by daughters Susan and baby Christine, brothers Dave, Les, Bob, Gordon, Donald, Jim and sisters Dema and Selena. He was born in Portage LaPrarie, Manitoba to John Henry Alexander and Wilhelmina Duncan. Along with his siblings, he served in WWII in the Navy. George was a barber downtown Thunder Bay for over 60 years. His smiling face was known and loved by many. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, berry picker, curler and card player. Most of all, he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He had a kind heart, great wit and intelligence, judged no one and never complained. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Randy Boyd of Trinity United Church presiding. Interment to follow in Mountainview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wesway (210-1703 Victoria Ave E, Thunder Bay, ON P7C 1C6) would be appreciated.
