Obituary for George Willmer Mathers

MATHERS- George Willmer (Sonny) Mathers passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home, surrounded by family, on Feb 14, 2016. George was born May 20, 1934 in Fort Frances Ont. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Winnie Mathers, granddaughter Crystal Lynn and wife Brenda. He is survived by daughter Lynda (Tony), grandsons Antonio (Bri) and Matthew, son David (Janice) and granddaughter Sam, sisters Jean (Ray), Helen and brother Bud. George worked for many years as an iron worker on projects throughout NW Ont. He enjoyed his latter years playing cards with friends at the 55 Plus Club and the Current River Rec Centre. A sincere thank you to Jean, Ray, Sara, Donna and family members who had been his support system over the last few years. A special thank you to the team at Bethammi Nursing Home for their excellent care, treating him with dignity and respect. At George's request, there will be no service. Arrangements are in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
