Obituary for Isabel Viola Ross (Roraph)

Mrs. Isabel Viola Ross (nee Roraph), age 94, passed away peacefully at Bethammi nursing home on December 13, 2018. Isabel was born in Westaskwim, AB.
She left home at 17 years of age for Vancouver where she became "Rosie the Riveter" working in a munitions factory during WWII. It was there that she met the love of her life, Omer Charles Ross, an R.C.A.F. officer. At the end of the war, they moved to Thunder Bay, where they settled to raise their family.

Isabel enjoyed life to the fullest; she enjoyed travelling around North America with Omer, taking clogging classes at the 55 Plus Centre (and showing off her skills for her family in her kitchen) and spending time with her many friends.

Her quick wit and ability to make others laugh, even during her last days, will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

She dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and helping everyone who needed it. She spent countless hours volunteering at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and spent nearly 20 years serving meals at the Dew Drop Inn every Monday afternoon.

Predeceased by her husband, Omer; survived by her three sons Wayne (wife Margaret), Brian, Douglas (wife Caroline); grandchildren Brent, Liane, Cynthia, Derek, Meagan, Kerri, Michelle, Patricia, Raymond, Jennifer and 16 great-grandchildren. Survived also by her sister Irene of Edmonton.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Bethammi for the wonderful care she received while she was there.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 11:00 AM, at Sargent & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethammi nursing home or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
