Obituary for James Robert Maloney

Mom and Dad are reunited with our sister Lee. Jim Maloney died early Sunday October 1st, peacefully at Wilson Memorial hospital in Marathon. Dad came to Marathon from Port Arthur, in 1954 (at the age of 20)to work as a clerk in the shipping office/pulp storage of the Marathon pulp mill and retired in the early 1990’s, from that office. In 1957, dad married Nancy Atkinson of Marathon and over the next 7 years, two sons and two daughters made our family. Predeceased by his parents, in-laws, a daughter in infancy, 1 sister and 3 brothers, dad is survived by a daughter and two sons, one sister, several nieces and nephews and his 5 cherished grandchildren.
The family will have a small graveside service in the future but if you want to mark dad’s great life, please consider walking some loops of Marathon so you too might be able to be a Google Maps film star and live to 89. Please be happy for a life well lived and enjoyed. Thank you so much for the excellent care received from MFHT, Peninsula Manor and the amazing staff at Wilson Memorial. You have treated our family so well.
