Mr. James Richard Nayanookeesic, age 65 years passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. A wonderful, caring, and loving husband, father, grandfather. He lived in Auden, Jellicoe, and Geraldton before settling down in Armstrong, making it their home in 1989. James loved playing guitar, singing, hunting, fishing, and playing darts. He loved life and always had a kind word for everyone. James will be remembered for his laughing song. James had many accomplishments over the years, some include being trustee for Auden, a band councillor, Fire Chief with Whitesand/Armstrong for over 20 years. James worked for CN, Abitibi, Buchanan, D&L Estates, APS School Custodian and Whitesand snowplow operator just to name a few. James is survived by his wife of 41+ years Diana (nee Anderson), his sons Mark (Kathy) and Leon, his grandchildren; Amber (Tyson), great grandson Toby, Mackenzie, Mark Jr., Teigan, Lenaya and Tatum. He is also survived by John, Louis, Joe, Ota (John), George (Tuulikki), Irene (Oswald), Elizabeth (Karl), Harvey (Sherri), Susan, John (June), Morris (Vera), Billy Joe (Rox), Marty (Lucille), Lorraine, Shorty, Albert (Audrey), his godchildren Paul and Valee as well as numerous nephews, nieces.His son Leon was a blessing to him. He looked after his dad up until his final day. Leon, we both appreciate all that you did. We would also like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses who cared for James; Kim, Sara and Leah (2B), Dr. Kathleen Simpson, Dr. Robert Essex as well as his Nurse Practitioners Richard McKenzie and Lynn Thibeault, Raymond (VON), Jenn (Jenzens Pharmacy), and Patricia and Georgette (PSW).
