Obituary for Jean-Louis Dionne

DIONNE- Mr. Jean-Louis Dionne, age 81 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born in Cacouna, Quebec on December 17, 1933, the son of Paul and Marie Dionne. As a young man he moved to Northwestern Ontario, first living in Beardmore and then largely in Nipigon, where he worked as a cutter in the forestry industry. In the early 1960’s he married Fernand Pelletier and together they raised two children. He was a hardworking man who worked mainly out of town so he looked forward to spending his days off with his family. Jean-Louis enjoyed camping and vacations to Quebec to visit relatives. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Marcel (Patsy), daughter Chantal (Anthony) Vandermale, grandchildren: Melanie (Eric) Lapich, Brittany Kauan and Natalie, Grace and Lucas Vandermale; brothers: Paul, Benoit, Lorenzo, Normand and Claude Dionne; sisters: Mariange Rioux, Odele Ouellette, Gabrielle Cote and Rejeanne Bouchard as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Fernande and brother Eugiene Dionne. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 when family and friends will gather in Corpus Christi R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Alan Albao. The interment will take place in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon, Ontario. Visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, November 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street where the Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
