Obituary for Jody Micheal James Dulian

Jody Micheal James Dulian, born September 19, 1978, in Geraldton, Ontario passed away on February 21, 2023 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

It’s with great sorrow I officially announce the passing of my dear son at the young age of 45. He leaves behind his mother, Elaine, sister Sheri, nieces, daughter, Lilly and her mother Amy, uncles, aunts and many cousins who will remember him fondly.

Jody is predeceased by his grandparents Mike and Mary Dulian of Longlac, ON and his father John Dulian as recent as June 24, 2020.

At the age of 4 years, Lilly and her mother moved to Nova Scotia to be closer to family but that did not make him love his little girl any less. He made a special effort to send many gifts for her birthdays and of course her favourite holiday, Christmas.

Jody loved playing hockey in his early years and as hockey parents, we travelled to many towns for tournaments and made many hockey friends over the years. His other hobbies were golfing and fishing. He had a secret talent of writing poems which were even published at an early age.

Jody’s favourite place as a child was “the farm.” Every year, he would count down the days until the annual journey to Saskatchewan every July. He would follow his uncles helping do the chores, taking grain to the elevator and happily riding the tractor.

Surprising to all except those who knew him well, he was not the big tough guy he portrayed, but a loving guy with a big heart. Tragically, he could not get ahead of the addictions that always loomed in the background, which ultimately ended his life. All I can hope for now is that he is at peace in heaven with his father, grandparents, and everyone close to him who predeceased him.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in his favourite place close to “the farm” along with his father, in Manor, SK.
