SHAPWAYKEESIC- Julia Shapwaykeesic, age 91 years, passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on Thursday, February 2, 2022. Born in Mud River on July 25, 1930, she spent most of her life in Ferland, Ontario. Julia enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially in the beauty of nature where she loved camping, hunting and fishing. She also liked to play games, especially Yahtzee and poker. She a woman of strong character who was always available to help others. She had a happy disposition and was always a strong supporter and vocal cheerleader for those she held dear. Julia’s greatest love was her family and she cherished time spent with them. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband Joseph, children Robert (Hilda) Matinet, Marilyn Matinet, Paul (Jocelyn) Matinet, Russell Shapwaykeesic, Sandra (Leslie) Lachinette, Zelda (Horace) Shapwaykeesic, Andrew (Darlene) Shapwaykeesic, Stanley Shapwaykeesic, Shirley (Alex) Shapwaykeesic, Burk Shawaykeesic as well as by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings and other relatives.
