Obituary for June Neill
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mrs. June Neill, age 90, announce her peaceful passing on Sunday February 14, 2021 at Bethammi Nursing Home. June ended her journey on what would have been her true sweetheart Tom’s, 91st birthday, on Valentine’s Day. We find great comfort that they are now together again.
A life-long resident of Thunder Bay, June devoted her life to her home and family. A talented and creative baker, gardener, and knitter, everything June created was done with great love, care, and precision. She had a competitive nature especially when it came to cards, cribbage, bowling, and horseshoes. Gifted with a wonderful singing voice, she was self-taught on the accordion at a young age. Music brought her much enjoyment throughout her life.
June will be lovingly remembered by daughters Kerry Malone and Sharon (Mark) Sacchetti, sons John (Sandy) Neill, and Colin (Suzanne) Neill, 6 grandchildren Vanessa (Tyler) Malone, Spencer (Ashley) Malone, Natalie Sacchetti, Shain (Robbie) Sacchetti, Franca Neill, and Nolan Neill. Also survived by sister Irene Wiggans, brother-in-law Edward (Pat) Neill, and dear friend Corrine Milton.
Predeceased by husband Thomas in 2006, brothers Bob, Edward, and Ronald Belcher and sister Barbara Bjorkquist, brothers-in-law Robert Wiggans, Art Bjorkquist, and Ken Sim, and sisters-in-law Maureen Sim and Kitty Neill.
As per June’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment to be held at a later date.
