Obituary for Lori Lee Boulanger
LORI LEE BOULANGER (OJALA)
(1973 – 2022)
It is with deepest sadness that the family of Lori Lee Boulanger (Ojala) advises of her peaceful death on Friday, July 8, 2022, with her family by her side. Lori had been six months in hospital battling numerous medical issues.
Lori was born in Thunder Bay on December 30, 1973, to Paula and Anthony (Tony) Ojala, being the oldest of two children.
She was devoted to her family and children, choosing not to work outside the home until the children were both in school. Early on, she studied to be a hair stylist and later, already being a wife and mother, went back to college and received her RPN designation.
Lori was a very kind and compassionate person, loving all those around her and always wanting to help others. This was reflected by where she worked: Dawson Court and Hilldale Gardens, followed by the detox centre operated by St. Joseph’s Care Group, where she helped to care for those with addictions. It was during this time that her health failed to the point that she could no longer work.
Lori was naturally creative, crocheting and sewing clothes for Cabbage Patch dolls at a very young age. She created the most beautiful Halloween costumes through her own imagination just by looking at a picture. She also tried her hand at painting and was quite good.
Lori will always be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mario (together for 30 years); daughter, Mia (Jordan); son Jacob; mother, Paula Ojala; sister Vicki Matikainen (Jani) and niece Hanna; grandmother, Eila Mullo; aunts, uncles, cousins and more distant relatives in Finland. She was predeceased by her father, Tony Ojala; grandmother, Aune Suni; grandfathers, Hugo Nieminen and Emil Ojala and step-grandfather, Arvo Mullo.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19th at 11:00 am at Hildale Lutheran Church, 321 Hilldale Road. Cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest with her father in Lappe cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
