Obituary for Lorne Frederick Ranta
The family of Lorne Frederick Ranta, age 56, of Thunder Bay, announces his peaceful passing on July 21, 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Lorne was born on September 2, 1965 in Thunder Bay to parents Henry and Rose (Kozak) Ranta and was educated with Twin Haven and with Avenue II. He enjoyed watching sports of any kind, swimming, and bowling. He was outgoing, funny, and loved being around those he loved. Anytime there was an opportunity to go shopping, or just to get out and do something, he was game!
He is survived by his father Henry; brother Gary (partner Patty), several nieces, nephews, and cousins here in Thunder Bay as well as in British Columbia and across Canada; and many dear friends at Avenue II, who became his second family.
Lorne was predeceased by his mother Rose as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery.
