Obituary for Lucia Pettenuzzo
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lucia Pettenuzzo on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Lucia Michieli was born on December 21, 1935 in the small town of Chions, Provincia Di Pordenone, Italy. She came to Canada in the early 1960’s to be with her family. In 1966, she married Lino Pettenuzzo and spent 55 wonderful years together. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother first and foremost. Spending time with her family and creating delicious meals for them was her greatest joy. She also loved her annual and sometimes bi-annual getaways to Las Vegas. Along with those weekly drives to Grand Portage with her husband.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Lino, son Walter (Rose), daughter Nadia (Shane), her grandsons Marcello, Andrew, Noah and Joshua. She is also survived by brothers Angelo, Giovanni, Giuseppe, and Dino, by sisters Marriucia and Anna, along with many nieces & nephews in Canada and Italy. As well as her dear friends Maria and Grace.
She was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Maria Michieli, Inlaws Emilio and Ermina Pettenuzzo, brothers Arsenio, Ferrucio, Carlo, Giorgio and sister Teresa.

A funeral service for Lucia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in the Chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Michael Mahoney officiating. Those wishing to attend the service virtually may do so at the Sargent & Son Facebook page. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
