Obituary for Lynda Marie Young (Churchill)
Lynda Marie Young, age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Lynda was born in Hamilton, Ontario where she attended Hill Park School and later moved to Thunder Bay. In 1989 she met Tom Young. They were married in 1991 and spent 31 years together.
Lynda worked at various jobs in restoration and retail. With husband Tom, she was half of Lyntom Pugs. They bred and showed pugs for 20 years, producing many champions and companion pugs.
Predeceased by son Jason Leclair, mother Grace, father Malcolm Churchill, stepfather George Pegg, mother and father in law Frank & Joyce Young, brother in law Daniel Young, brothers Terry and Jim Churchill, and sister Jeannie Marsh.
Survived by husband Tom Young, son Jody Leclair, grandsons Jason Leclair and Michael Hagberg, stepson Richard Young, step grandchildren Mason, Emma, and Everly, sister Judi Wylie and her partner Carl Cripps, brother Kevin Churchill, sister and brother in law Teri & Gordon Smith and family friends Gerald Leclair and Kathryn Mackenzie, Janice Kelley, Ashley, Ryder and Zach Richards. Also lovingly remembered by nieces Mandy and Jessica and numerous other nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at 1A at the TBRHSC. Also the doctors at the cancer clinic and renal centre. We also extend our gratitude to our friends and neighbours for their care and support during the final stages of her illness.
As per Lynda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. She will be laid to rest with her son Jason at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
