Obituary for Marc Kim Demers

DEMERS- Marc Kim Demers, age 61 years, passed away peacefully in the company of loving family at TBRHSC on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Marc was born in Sudbury, Ontario on May 28, 1959. He grew up in Levack, Ontario just outside of Sudbury along with his 7 siblings. As a 19 year old he moved to Thunder Bay where he worked at Richardson International, retiring as a Millwright after 35 years of service. Marc enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and spending time at camp on Onaping Lake. Marc never missed an opportunity to spend time with his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. He was always available to help build, fix, play cards and give (and take) a 'small course'. He kept in touch with family by phone when he couldn't be nearby, he certainly loved to chat. Marc cherished his long time friends who would attest to his patience, generosity and relaxed nature. His greatest love was for his daughter Jonelle and her family, husband Andy and grandsons James and Zenon. Marc was very proud of his grandsons, he taught them about tools, pranks, hockey and anything that was asked. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his daughter Jonelle, son-in-law Andy Armitage, grandsons James and Zenon, siblings Carmen & Clifford, Maurice (Bucko) & Teresa, Marcel & Ann, Linda & Lorne, Bernie & Debbie, Len (Bim) & Linda and Robbie & Nina as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Paul and Gisele Demers. The family would like to offer a special thanks to all those who took great care of him when he needed it most. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Marc’s life will be held at a time when restrictions have eased and all family and friends can gather to pay tribute. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
