Obituary for Mary Jeananne Lund (Hall)

The Family of Mary Jeananne Lund are saddened to announce her peaceful passing with family by her side after a short battle with cancer on January 3rd, 2023 at the age of 82. Jeananne was born on August 7th, 1940 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Clyde and Anne Hall. She married the love of her life, Charles (Charlie) Lund on July 4, 1958 where they would spend many wonderful years together in their home in Laclu, Ontario.

Jeananne was a beloved Mom, Aunt, Sister, Friend and Grandmother affectionately known as Mummu, Memmou or Grandma depending on which grandchild you spoke to. Charlie and Jeananne spent many years crafting together making many beautiful pieces of woodworking that was often gifted or sold at craft fairs. After Charlie’s passing on New Years Eve 1999, Jeananne relocated to Thunder Bay where she filled her time with TOPS and volunteering at 55 plus. She also fell in love with traveling the world, reaching China, Panama, BoraBora, Vietnam, Cambodia and of course England to name a few. Travel also meant good road trips with the girls (Christine, Chantel and sometimes Diane) which usually started with her yelling at Chantel to turn off Highway to Hell as they started their adventure. What Jeananne loved most was spending time with her “kids”, that included those that were blood, cousins, her grandchildren and the friends of her kids and grandkids too.

Jeananne will lovingly be remembered by her children, Karl Lund, Susan (Kirby) Haines, Christine (Larry) Paavola, and David (Vicki) Lund, her grandchildren Jeff Lee, Chantel (Scott) Paavola, Brandon Paavola, Jasper Lund and Eric Lund, her chosen son Ed Kersch and grandson Eddy, brother Jim (Morry) Hall, sister Gerri McNally, sister in-law Diane (Glenn) Bradshaw and Janet (Arthur) Loader, numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and in England.

Jeananne was predeceased by the love of her life Charles Lund, her brother Jackson Hall, daughter in law Karen Lee Lund, and parents Clyde and Anne Hall.

As per Jeananne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place on January 16th at 11 am at Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice.
