Obituary for Melissa Corine Mathewson
It is with great sorrow that the family of Melissa Corine Mathewson announces her passing on May 12, 2023 at the age of 57.
Melissa was an LMT and had her own private practice. She loved her family and adored her animals. She was an artist in her own way. She made papier-mâché art with her sister growing up – that was one of her favourite hobbies.
She is survived by her daughter Monnette Mathewson (Dillon Mugford), granddaughter Peyton Mathewson, siblings John Mathewson (Michelle), Lindsey Mathewson, Casie Mathewson, and step-parents Bernadette & Wayne Letang. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Toto. She was predeceased by her parents John Collins Mathewson Sr. and Barbara Stopanski, both sets of grandparents, and sister Wendy Lee Mathewson.
A memorial service will be on Friday, May 19, at 11am, at the Kateri Church. In her memory, contributions are suggested to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society.
