In loving memory of John Cooney who passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022. John was born in Beardmore but raised in Pass Lake where he built his life surrounded by family and friends. As a young man John was a Longshoreman riding the Lakers through the great lakes. Later he became a partner in Dewhurst Insurance, while developing his family’s acreage into Bayview Golf Course.

John was lovingly referred to as Uncle by his family and close friends. He rarely missed the milestones and school events of his nieces and nephews – grand and great. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Carol Cooney and the nieces and nephews that he shared his life with. We would be remiss not to mention Alvin and Sandra Josephson, we thank Alvin for his continued friendship with Uncle, his visits will always be meaningful to us.

Many thanks to the staff of Hogarth Riverview Manor over the past several years. They were supportive through some very difficult times.
