Obituary for Pietro Andricciola

ANDRICCIOLA- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pietro Andricciola on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Bethammi Nursing Home at the age of 87. Pietro was born on April 24, 1928 in Sambiase, Catanzaro, Italy, the son of Francesco and Rosina (nee Mirabelli) Andricciola. Pietro immigrated to Canada in 1952 and found immediate employment with the City of Port Arthur until his retirement in 1987. In 1962 Pietro married Caterina Calidonna, and together they raised four children. Pietro was a gentleman and was friendly to all that knew him. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, often boasting about his tomatoes. He also loved to make wine, and was always offering up a glass to sample to whomever dropped by. Pietro was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Rosina Andricciola and his in-laws Nicola and Teresa Calidonna. He will be sadly missed by wife Caterina, sons Frank, Tony and Vince (Shannon), daughter Rosie (Dean) Milanovic, grandchildren: Danielle, Laura, Anthony, Fox, and Talia Andricciola and Kara, Jordan and Natasha Milanovic. He is also survived by his sister Francesca, brother-in-law Vincenzo Ruberto, nephews Egidio (Missy) and Peter Ruberto, niece Maria Ruberto as well as by numerous other relatives in Canada, Italy and Australia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 when family and friends will gather in St. Anthony’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Interment to follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Monday from 6-7 p.m. with the Vigil Service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street.
