It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of our father, Robert “Tex” Thomas Herman Coulter, age 93 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Dad was a longtime employee of Hydro and started there when he was 18. When he and his brother, Don retired they traveled to Arizona and Nevada. Going on road trips is what dad loved the most and when he met his partner of more than 15 years Rose Vaclav, they continued to drive south during the winter months well into his eighties. When he could no longer drive he was happy when someone would take him to see the ships at the marina and the mission to see the deer.
He liked to keep active playing broom ball when he was younger and walked daily at Mackenzie Beach where he was a longtime resident before moving into town. Dad liked watching all sports on TV, curling, golf, baseball and he and Rose would stay up late to catch the final of a hockey game.
Dad will be deeply missed by his common-law wife Rose Vaclav, children Robie Koski, Tom Coulter, Nancy Coulter (Neil), Kelly Coulter, (Caroline), 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, David and Chris Vaclac.
Predeceased by his parents, son Michael, brother Donald and sisters Edith and Carol.
As per dad’s wishes cremation has taken place with a private celebration of life at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of St. Joes 4 North for keeping him comfortable in his last days and the staff at Jasper Place for their care and compassion over the last year dad resided there.
