Verna Elizabeth Stevenson (Russell), took flight with the butterflies on May 6, 2023 at the age of 92. As she was in life she approached death the same way….Proud, Strong and Independent. She loved her home, her family and her many close friends. Verna was predeceased by the love of her life, Jack, her daughter in infancy Bonnie, and her daughter Wendy. She is survived by her son Jim (Irene) and daughter Heather. Also survived by her grandchildren Trevor (Justin), Jeannette, Bonnie (Seth), Darren (Sylvia) and David (Tanya) and six great grandchildren. A very special thank you to the Doctors and especially the Nurses and Sherri at St. Joe’s Palliative Care. Also special thanks to Krysta on 5 South. The kindness, compassion and warmth that you all showed Mom as well as us, will always be a part of our final memories with her. A celebration of life for Verna will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with words of tribute beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in the Sargent Family Reception Centre, 21 N.
