JOHNSON- Mrs. Vieno Johnson, age 103 years, passed away peacefully at the T.B.R.H.S. Transitional Care Unit at Hogarth Riverview Manor on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Special thanks to all their staff. Vieno was born in Harma, Finland on July 15, 1915, the daughter of Emanuel and Anna Tienhaara and came to Canada with her family at three years of age. She grew up in Suomi, Ontario and she enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, knitting and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ray (Diana) Koski, Anita (Jesse) Raymer, Don (Janet) Koski and Elaine Kantola; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by children Elvi Holmquist and Ronald Johnson, grandsons David Holmquist, Derek Koski and Trevor Holmquist and 5 siblings. Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Vieno's life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 3-5 p.m., with words of tribute beginning at 4 p.m., in the Murillo Recreation Center. The interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
