Vittorio (Vic) Augruso
October 24, 1931 – January 14, 2021
After a long and happy life at the age of 89 years it is with heavy hearts that the Augruso family announces the peaceful passing of Vittorio (Vic) Augruso with family by his side on January 14, 2021.
Vittorio immigrated to Port Arthur in 1951 from Curinga, Italy at the age of 19. In 1953, he married the love of his life Angela (Doria) and had six children. He supported his family as an industrial roofer for many years before branching off and starting his own Augruso Roofing.
He was a master gardener, wine, sausage, and sauce maker, and loved his plants and cooking. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1130, Grand Knight, and 4th degree member. He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Parish, and belonged to the St. Anthony’s Seniors Club, Holy Name Society, and the Italian Cultural Center Men’s Club.
Vittorio will be lovingly remembered by his wife Angela of 67 years, his sons Salvatore, Natale (Cathy), Sam (Pina), John (Susy), Victor Jr. (Rossana). His grandchildren Lisa, Theresa (Cameron), Andrew (Jillian), Angie (Jon), Krista (Josh), Aleks, Emily, Ariel, Kyra, Riley and Antonia. Great grandchildren Michealla, Gregorio, Ella-Rose, Emma, Jasper. Sisters-in-law Giovanna, Bettina, and brother-in-law Giuseppe, and by numerous nieces, nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Maria, daughter Theresa, grandchildren Michael and Michelle, brothers Sebastiano, Ernesto, Paul, sister Maria, sister-in-law Concetta, nephew Paul and brother-in-law John.
His love of life and family will continue in the hearts of his family and everyone he has touched. Your thoughts and prayers for Angela and family are greatly appreciated.
Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with Rev. Luigi Filippini officiating.
