Mr. Gordon Alexander Begin age 79 years, a resident of Thunder Bay passed away at the TBRHSC on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Born in Fort William, Gordon was a lifelong resident of the city. Gordon worked for many years as a sheet metal worker before retiring and opening Begin Upholstery and Draperies. He was an active man who enjoyed many different pastimes. He was a member of the Fort William Rowing Club and a lifetime member of the Lakehead Archery Club. Gordon enjoyed bowling and golfing at Centennial Golf Course.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Cheryl, children: Gordon Jr., Kenneth, Catherine (Kevin) Bell, brother Ed (Shirley), Paul (Darlene), Tommy (Eileen), sister-in-law Allison (Rejean) Pelletier, brothers-in-law Ted (Susan) Kennedy, Regis (Claire) Kennedy, and Stewart (Linda) Kennedy. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

He was predeceased by his sister Joan O’Neill, brother Jim Begin, parents Adelord and Cecilia Begin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 when family and friends will gather in Corpus Christi R.C. Church beginning at 11:00 am, celebrated by Rev. Victor DeGagne. A private interment will be held in the family plot at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
