With inconsolable hearts we the family of Angela Sgambelluri (nee Piscioneri) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the age of 72.

Angela was born in Siderno, Reggio Calabria, Italy on August 30, 1944. She came to Canada in 1965 with her husband Domenic where they raised a family and instilled the utmost values of life, showing faith, respect, courage, strength, hard work and love.

Throughout her life, Angela has shown us all what it is to be an amazing human being as she touched so many lives. She was our cornerstone of strength, offering advice, encouragement, love and always was a peacemaker. Never a word or action of hate had ever come from her. Always love, kindness and generosity beyond words. Her strength both physically and mentally has always amazed us. She adored her family and was a woman of strong faith. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, puzzles, bingo and game shows, but most of all she loved her family gatherings. She was proud to have dual citizenship as she became a Canadian citizen in 2014.

She is survived and will always be remembered and loved by her children, Joe (Sandra), Cosimo (Antonella), Maria, Tony (Melissa); by her grandchildren Josef, Daniela, Alyssa, Domenic and Tyrell; by her siblings Joe (Delores) Piscioneri, Tony (Maria) Piscioneri, Sara (late Joe) Ieraci, Immacolata (late Carmelo) Caridi, Elena (Giuseppe) Cherubino and all of their families, by her in-laws Elvira, Maria and Fran Piscioneri. Rosetta (Cosimo) Pasqualino, Emilia (late Vincenzo) Sgambelluri, Cosimo (Graziella) Sgambelluri, Carmela (Salvatore) Logozzo, Teresina (Rosario) Marzano and all of their families as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her husband Domenic, parents Cosimo and Immacolata Piscioneri, father and mother-in-law Giuseppe and Emilia Sgambelluri, brothers Vincenzo, Domenic, Frank and Pietro, sisters Carmela and Maria, brother-in-law Joe Ieraci and sister-in-law Eleonora Piscioneri, brother-in-law Vincenzo and niece Rosetta Sgambelluri, brother/ sister-in-laws Angela and Domenico Sanci, Maria and Giuseppe Oppedisano.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Dominic’s R.C. Church, 130 Redwood Ave W, for funeral mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi. A private family entombment will follow at Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum in St. Andrew’s R.C Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 7:30pm at St. Dominic’s R.C. Church, 130 Redwood Ave W. with vigil prayers being offered at 8:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or to the Charity of your Choice.
