Arvo Nikolai  Raparanta
Mr. Arvo Raparanta, age 82 years, passed away peacefully at the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Arvo was born in Finland on June 12, 1934, the son of Matias and Olga Raparanta. As a young man he enjoyed fishing and in later years could often be found tinkering around the house on his various projects. He is survived by his wife Anna, son Jari (Zita) of Brampton, ON, grandchildren, Kimberly, Tina and Saskia, 7 great grandchildren as well as by other relatives in Canada and Finland. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. A private service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 with the interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
