Obituary for Barbara Ann Gibson

Gibson- Barbara Ann Gibson (nee Bingham), age 57 years a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly in the Hamilton General Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday, September 15, 2012. Barb was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on November 24, 1954 and was the daughter of the late Jack and Mona Bingham. Barb was member of the Oliver Road Recreation Centre and was employed for 25 years with the Scandinavian Home Restaurant. She enjoyed gardening and camping but most important was spending time in her home and times spent with her family. Barb took great pride in her cooking skills and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends especially during holiday events. Barb was loved and respected by all who knew her and her family and friends meant the world to her. Barb will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Rae Ann (Johnny) and son Scott , grandchildren; Caley, Alysha and Brandon, brothers Bill (Joanne) and Bob (Helen). Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive. Barb was predeceased by her first husband Weldon Richard Gilbert, her second husband Raymond James Gibson and her life partner James Vaanta as well as by her parents Jack and Mona Bingham. A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 North Court Street with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding. A private interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully request memorials in Barb’s memory to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.
