Obituary for Barbara Pretlac
Barbara Joan Pretlac, age 81, passed away on May 17, 2018 in hospital surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 26, 1937 at Port Arthur General Hospital. Barbara was a life long member of St. Paul's United Church. She went to school at Prospect, Central, and Port Arthur Technical High Schools. She graduated as an X-ray Technician in 1957 and worked at the Port Arthur General Hospital (for 10 years) and Thunder Bay Medical Centre (for over 30 years). Barbara enjoyed activities at the 55+ Centre, was a member of the United Church Women, and was a supporter of the Thunder Bay Symphony for over 50 years.
Predeceased by her parents Alex and Clarissa Law, brothers Douglas, John, and Richard Law. Barbara is survived by husband Richard, sons Ronald (Karen), Eric (Karen), granddaughters Amy and Ella, sisters-in-law Helen, Rose and Phyllis Law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Robert Polhill, brother-in-law Ron Pretlac, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
