Obituary for Caterina Piaskowski Mrs.

Mrs. Caterina Piaskowski, age 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at TBRHSC on April 30, 2013. Caterina was born on December 5, 1919 in San Pietro di Feletto in the province of Treviso in the Italian region of Veneto , to parents Bortolo and Luigia Ceschin. She moved to Canada in 1949 and married Joseph Piaskowski. She became known to everyone as Nonna. Nonna was always full of life and laughter, and loved spending time with her family and long time friend Anne Bobyk. Her many enjoyments were time spent in her garden as well as baking and cooking for her family and friends. She is survived by daughter Claudia (Percy) Aguirre, sons Joe (Pat), and Dennis (Helen), grandchildren Robert (Sandra), Ryan (Sandra), Darryl (Jaclyn), Jennifer (Grant), Andrea (Kevin), Sarah, Melissa (Steve), and Krysta, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren: Alex, Dani, Kalyn, Jackson, Jeremy, Joey, Wyatt, Hudson, Atticus, Vander, Mason, and Tanner She was predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph, and brothers Claudio, Giovanni, and Duilio. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, celebrated by Rev. Richard Kowalchuk . A private family interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Caterina to Bethammi Nursing Home or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
