Obituary for Ciril Rosa Mr.

ROSA- It is with great sadness that the family of Ciril Rosa aged 77 years of Thunder Bay announce his passing, on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Ciril was born July 15, 1930 in a small village of St. Vid, Podnanos, Yugoslavia (now Slovenia). He immigrated to Canada, and settled in Port Arthur. He received his Canadian Citizenship in 1956. In 1961, he met and married Anna Horvat also from Yugoslavia. He was employed with Abitibi in the logging camps and later with the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Company until he retired. Until he wasn't able to, he loved to tend to his garden and spend time outdoors, fishing and hunting at many area lakes. He received a City of Thunder Bay Beautification award in 1984 and he prided himself on the ethics of hard work. It showed in everything he accomplished. Ciril was truly a special person, who touched the lives of many people especially his grandchildren. His persistent and courageous battle with his health showed just how strong a person he truly was. Ciril is survived by his son John (Tammy) Rosa of Allison, daughters; Rosemary Langevin and Susan (Ron) Mihalus of Thunder Bay, 9 grandchildren: Ryan Caron of Thunder Bay, David, Joey and Steven Rosa of Ottawa, Kayla and Brandon Mihalus, Alyson, Abbigail and Jennifer Langevin of Thunder Bay, brother Jozeph and sister Roza of Slovenia, and family, as well as numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Rosa, and will now be able to finally join her as they rest together. As per Ciril's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday (TONIGHT), April 15, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street, celebrated by Rev. Mr. Charles Johnson of Our Lady of Loretto R.C. Church. Should friends desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com. A special thanks to the staff of the TBRHSC for all the care and compassion given to Ciril.
