Obituary for Dianne Elizabeth "Danny" Arthur

Dianne Elizabeth "Danny" Arthur
Dianne “Danny” Arthur has passed away peacefully and unexpectedly with her family by her side on Friday, August 11th, 2017 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Danny was born December 30th, 1944 in Port Arthur to Kathleen and Sterling Morrison. She attended Hillcrest High School and eventually began her career as a hairdresser. She soon met the love of her life, Richard (Rich) Arthur and were married in 1964. Together they raised their 3 loving sons, Adam, Rod & Blair until Rich’s passing in 1996. Danny worked hard at the two things she was passionate about; hairdressing and providing home care for the elderly with ComCare. Danny’s love for flowers allowed her to grow a close relationship with longtime family friend Romano (Robbie) Bertoncello. Together, they spent many hours in front of their pond watching the coy and enjoying their flower gardens. He loved her unconditionally and cared compassionately for her, taking her to numerous medical appointments and staying at her side through it all.
Danny was like a second mother to many. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a truthful and positive way with her no-nonsense attitude and honest manner. She was very supportive to friends, family and clients, not only to steer them in the right direction, but also to walk them down the path.
Everyone has a special relationship with Danny. Our house and camp was always open for people to stop by, with Danny and Rich entertaining at a moment’s notice and always making you feel like you were at home.
Danny will be sadly missed by her loving sons Adam (Anita), Rod, Blair (Keri), grandchildren Keegan, Kassandra, Matthew, Mason and Maddy and loving partner Romano.
A special thank you to all of Danny’s health care providers at home and at TBRHSC for her on going care.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court St. with Rev. Harold Hunt officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Regional Cancer Care at TBRHSC. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com
We had 72 years to enjoy Danny’s extraordinary life. We will miss you dearly, and will continue to celebrate your life, as you and Dad will always, and forever be in our hearts.
