Condolence: Dear Auntie Bonnie
We are saddened to hear that Edgar has passed. He was such a dear friend to mom and dad. There are so many good memories and he will be missed. His life was so full and accomplished. He loved his family, his community and he was so very full of optimism and energy. Dad looked forward to his visits with him . They shared so many stories. He really was a bright light that will continue to shine. I know mom is sending you a hug. Love and wishes for comfort and peace from all of us to you. God bless.

Condolence: Mr. Laprade was very kind to me over the course of my time spent with Jon. I hold so much respect for Edgar and his life's achievements, as well as the way Edgar accepted me into Jon's life. Edgar's family man nature, and love for his family was shown to me on several occasions, as well as several Christmas dinners at his home.Edgar's outstanding athletic achievements I always felt joy from in the sense that my Dad and Papere, and Papa Ben were able to have that interest in Canada's great sport in common with him. I know this is a great loss to you all and my deepest condolences are with you today, but I also know Edgar's influence and spirit will stay with us.

Jon is, and was, an outstanding human being and I know Edgar had a great deal to do with that. My thoughts to you Jon at this time, and to your Mom, as well as all the many people Edgar's live touched.

Condolence: To the Laprade family,

Thinking of all of your family at this time of loss.
I met Edgar, at of all places the local Hockey arena, a few years ago. He was watching his great grandson playing hockey, and we were there for our son. We always, said Hello and shared common stories of the game and the weather, It was a joy to see him there , I always thought he was so sweet , friendly, and down to earth. It was amazing to see him there in his 90s still enjoying the game. He will be missed.

Condolence: My condolences to the Laprade family. I first met Edgar when I joined Confederation College as a Dean in the early 1970s. I never met a more kind, gentle man who's philosophy was, "If you could not make a positive comment about an individual, then don't say anything." Edgar's sporting success and commitment to civic causes is legendary. His passing is a great loss to the Lakehead region and Canada generally.
