MINERS- Mrs. Edith May Miners, age 96 years, a resident of Pioneer Ridge Home for the Aged passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Edith was born in Brandon, Manitoba on October 3, 1920, moving to Port Arthur at an early age. Edith enjoyed spending time at camp at Hawkeye Lake but her greatest joy came in time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons James (Nicole) and David (Eileen), grandchildren Daniel, Derek, Kristen and Alyssa, sister Aileen, 5 great grandchildren as well as by nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 2008. A memorial service to celebrate Edith's life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Harold Hunt presiding. The inurnment at Riverside Cemetery will follow the reception. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
