Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Eileen Laxdal can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Eileen Pearl Laxdal

Eileen passed away at the T.B.R.H.S.C. after a brief illness at age 84. She was born, raised and educated in Fort William. Eileen married Mike Laxdal in 1953. They spent many years living in Caramat and Manitouwadge working for American Can. In 1984 they moved to Thunder Bay where Mike predeceased her in 1988. She had a great interest in working outdoors in her flower gardens. More recently her pet cat 'Alfie' kept her busy. Surviving Eileen are her brothers: Jimmy, Leonard (Marilyn Miller) and Ernie; sister Linda, special niece Cathy Ochitwa (Ernie) and their son Austin of Milton, ON as well as numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Earl Corbett, husband Mike, brother Joseph and sister Jean Lewis. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Terry Sawchuk of St. Peter's R.C. Church presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Andrew's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society would be appreciated.
