Obituary for Elsie Tennant Mrs.

TENNANT-Mrs. Elsie Code (Parry) Tennant, age 95 years, a resident of Pioneer Ridge, Plaza Three, passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 18, 2003. Born in Rossport, Elsie moved to Port Arthur to attend the nursing program at the "new" P.A. General Hospital where she was a member of the first graduating class in 1930. Following her graduation she worked at McKellar Hospital and then Grandview Lodge Home for the Aged where she retired as a Nursing Supervisor in 1973. Elsie was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fort William Connaught Chapter #9. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Bud (Cecile), grandchildren: Maureen Knowler (Dave), Deanna Koziy (Rob), Steve Parry (Sonia), Susan Taylor (Rick), Darryl (Lesley), Jim (Zita), Dale and Neil Brigden, great-grandchildren: Deborah, Nicholas, Michael, Matthew, Sean, Paige, and Kyra, great great-grandchildren: Grace and Thomas. She was predeceased by her husband Mac (1987), daughter Marguerite, and son-in-law Norman. She was also predeceased by her parents, four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22nd, 2003 at 11:00 am in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. John Giurin of Calvin Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be Sunday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
