The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ethel Turner can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: George Nickerson
Condolence: Mrs. Turner was very influential in my life. In the early 1960's, she patiently supported my growth and maturation while attending St. George's Anglican Church. She taught me to sing 'nicely' and always encouraged active participation in Sunday School where a wide range of spiritual enrichment could be realized. My greatest memory, though, comes from the tiny ice rink which she 'managed' on the corner of Algoma and McIntyre Street. Geoffery and all the neighbourhood children learned to skate there. Mrs. Turner provided tiny chairs which were pushed to gain balance and confidence. Rosy cheeks on a winter's day frames a wonderful memory I have of Mrs. Turner. She lit a flame in me during the winter of 1961. Her kindness keeps me on ice to this day. Mrs. Turner's legacy will live on. The Nickerson family extends heart-felt sympathy to Geoffery and all those she impacted throughout her life of giving.
